The roof top tent design or make you need depends on what you will use it for. Hardshell roof top tents, normally made from fiberglass or aluminum, are much heavier and do take more space on the roof or roof rack of your vehicle.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey tend to last longer, and are more resistant to hazards from rain, branches, dust and other elements. Their design can be a pop up roof top tent or a clamshell roof top tent, with the latter being the fastest to open and close. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDue to their design, they tend to fit 2 or maximum 3 people, although a few models can sleep more.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSoftshell roof top tents are more affordable, take less space in the roof rack, or bed rack for that matter.
